Lunch & Learn: How to Identify And Report Child Abuse & Neglect

 

Mandatory reporters are required by law to report suspected child abuse and neglect. The training educates mandatory reporters on what constitutes abuse and/or neglect, when to call for assistance, and how to make a report. It also explains the process undertaken when a call is received.

The Training will help you:

  • Identify what child abuse/neglect is that rises to the level of reporting

  • Learn your mandatory obligations for reporting child abuse/neglect

  • Learn what happens after a report is made

Carrie Gillit is the Community Services Administrator in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division at Arapahoe County Department of Human Services. She has been at the County for over 18 years in various positions ranging from the abuse/neglect hotline, intake casework, supervisory roles, and administrative.
