Title: Clinical Supervisor
Pronouns: she/her
Who I Work Best With:
I help early-career therapists and more experienced clinicians gain confidence in creating strong therapeutic relationships, providing trauma-informed care, and developing your clinical voice.
Perhaps you have developed skills or established a solid clinical foundation for your clinical practice, but lack the experience or expertise in trauma that you wish you had. Or, perhaps you don’t have as strong of a clinical foundation as you want, such as with clinical documentation, assessment and diagnosing, or systems. I especially enjoy working with early career professionals who are still finding their voice and style as clinicians. It’s a vulnerable and exciting time so having quality supervision in place can make a world of difference.
My goal is to support therapists who are motivated to develop their own professional style and eager to grow into confident, competent clinicians. You can build secure, attuned relationships with clients because clinical confidence often grows not just from evidenced-based interventions, but from how you cultivate the therapeutic relationship. We will explore establishing and maintaining therapeutic rapport, including how to connect with clients in meaningful ways, and how to navigate ruptures and repairs.
Whether you work with adults, children, teens or families, supervision can be informative, worthwhile, and engaging – a space where you can be your authentic self. In supervision or consultation, we will discuss not just clinical techniques and case conceptualizations, but also how to set and maintain healthy boundaries. We will also lean into how to manage countertransference and sustain yourself in a field that can be both rewarding and emotionally demanding.
I provide individual supervision and consultation, and group supervision and group consultation, from a trauma-informed and systems perspective. I aim to create a supportive environment that encourages curiosity, fun, and ongoing learning, so that you can thrive professionally in your work as a clinician. I would love to support you on your journey!
Ashley is licensed and approved to provide clinical supervision in Colorado and Washington. Ashley is an Independent Contractor with Firelight Supervision.
My supervision style is rooted in attachment theory and trauma-informed care principles. Just as a strong therapeutic alliance can foster healing and growth for clients, a secure and attuned supervisor/supervisee relationship can support meaningful professional development.
You have unique strengths, skills, identities, and lived experiences. I affirm these qualities and honor the richness they bring to your clinical work. In supervision, I help you harness these parts of you while remaining client-centered. Together, we examine how to show up authentically and effectively in the therapy room while remaining grounded in ethical, culturally responsive practice.
During our sessions, I encourage critical thinking while creating opportunities for you to try new things. Our work together is grounded in the realities of the populations you serve and the systems in which you operate. You want to stay connected to your passion and purpose in the field, and I can help you do that.

Supervision Training and Experience:
In my career as a clinical social worker, I have worked in psychiatric facilities, Division of Youth Services facilities, private practice, and outpatient agencies. My niche has been working with legal-involved clients, and I also specialize in trauma and working with individuals who ask themselves, “Why did this happen to me?”
As an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), I have over 10 years of supervision and consultation experience in the mental health field. I have provided supervision to student interns and pre-licensed clinicians in larger systems, at smaller outpatient agencies, and in private practice.
Throughout my career, I have had a handful of supervisors that supported my growth as a clinician. Each challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and encouraged me to process issues of countertransference. Leading me to recognize the importance and impact of quality supervision. Because of these experiences, I took the initiative to ensure I had the tools to be an effective supervisor. I have completed 45 hours of formal continuing education about supervision and doctoral level course work in Social Work Supervision. I created a six-hour Introduction to Supervision course for PESI, and I wrote a 45-hour supervision course approved by the Center for Credentialing and Education.
